The Curvy Club is SO EXCITED to partner with Penny Pain owner of Painfully Pretty Tattoos in Saskatoon for our Tats 4 Fats event on March 18 with proceeds going to support the amazing efforts over at Prairie Harm Reduction!
Tattoos can be something that is quite vulnerable for ANYONE but even more so for those living in larger bodies. We often face criticism and judgment against our bodies, or we don’t feel welcome in spaces.
When selecting the right tattoo studio to work with on this extremely important project, Cierra was looking for artists that value inclusivity and diversity. Recently, Painfully Pretty Tattoo Shop was recognized for the barriers they are breaking in the tattoo industry to make it for diverse and inclusive. You can read the CBC article HERE.
This event will take place in Saskatoon on March 18, from 11 am - 7 pm. We will break down 45 minute increment time slots throughout the day to prevent people from standing around and waiting for their turn. These time slots will go live Monday, February 27 at 7 PM for booking. You can choose ONE of the predrawn flash tattoos below. Penny will not be able to tattoo any designs you bring in of your own during this event. Tattoos will cost $100 with proceeds going to support Prairie Harm Reduction and the safe consumption site. Upon reserving your spot here, you will need to etransfer your $100 non-refundable deposit to Painfullyprettytattoos@gmail.com to finalize your spot. If payment is not received within 24 hours of spot reservation, your spot will be released.

The Artist - Penny Pain
Shop owner, and one of their senior artists. Penny has been tattooing full time since March 2016, and working independently since 2019. In 2021 she opened Painfully Pretty Tattoos, which has since grown to be one of saskatoons top locations for quality tattoos in a safe, comfortable and fun environment.
Penny specializes in large black and grey work with a focus on realism, neotrad and illustrative styles, and has begun expanding her skillset to include vibrant and detailed colour pieces.
Her favourite subject matter includes floral, skulls, animals, and anything that shines or glows! She is also our resident go-to artist for coverups.

The Charity - Prairie Harm Reduction
Prairie Harm Reduction is a community based non-profit organization, in the heart of the inner city of Saskatoon.
Prairie Harm Reduction serves individuals who are at risk and affected by HIV and Hepatitis C by removing barriers to services and pursuing innovative and evidence-based outcomes. PHR provides members of the community a safe environment to drop-in with outreach support (Support Services and Family Support Programs). PHR also provides educational programs and resources on several topics including, but not limited to, HIV, HCV, Harm Reduction, service navigation and engaging with people who use drugs, and provides Naloxone training to anyone. In addition, PHR has Needle Patrollers who pick-up needles throughout Pleasant Hill, Riversdale, and Mayfair neighbourhoods.
In October 2019, Prairie Harm Reduction was proud to announce that Saskatchewan’s first Safe Consumption Site would open. The SCS provides a safe and judgment free environment for individuals to consume their substances. The PHR team continues to work tirelessly to ensure that the site remains open and available to those who need a safe place to go, all in absence of provincial funding.
